OroCommerce ships with concepts our other platforms have to bolt on (customer segments, price lists, RFQ workflow, punchout). That foundation makes the MBA layer richer, not just a port.
Per-organization context
Recommendations differ by buyer organization (their order history, their contract pricing). Native to Oro; in WC/Magento we'd have to model it ourselves.
RFQ + quote workflow
Oro ships the quote lifecycle. MBA fills it with bundle proposals + propose_quote_bundle MCP tool for sales reps.
Punchout integration
Coupa, Ariba, SAP cXML standard. MBA adds contract-aware alternative recommendations during a punchout session.
Hosted-engine integration, Oro-native UI
Unlike our WooCommerce and Magento modules (which run the mining engines locally on your store), the OroCommerce integration is a thin Symfony bundle that talks to our hosted mining service over HTTPS. You install one composer package, wire your API key, and the admin UI, datagrids, system_configuration.yml, messenger queue, and OroCRM widget extensions all light up Oro-native.
Engine improvements (sql_pairs, fp_growth, HUI, ai_catalog, substitution mining) ship server-side and reach every Oro tenant on the next mining job, no plugin update required. Pricing on Oro mirrors Magento ($199/month or $1,990/year) because the buyer profile and ARPU are similar.
